Asian Professionals May Meeting

Please Note: Asian Prof. Meetup needs organizers, if you'd like to be an organizer, and would be able to take the lead in organizing future meetups, please email asianprofessionalmeetup@gmail.com, and you will be made an assistant organizer ? in which case you will be able to plan meetups with other members. The agenda for Asian Professional Meetup #2 is to get to know each other, drink a beer or two, and figure out what we're all looking for in this group. The meetup will be casual and involve some "get to know you" type discussion. Please email me (AsianProfessionalMeetup@gmail.com) for more details or if you have any suggestions/questions.

Here's an example of the agenda:

* Introduction
o Where do you live and where do you work?
o Where are you originally from, and how did you end up in the Bay Area? Have you ever "ghostridden the whip"?

* Ice breaker?
o Be honest, what was the first thing that came to your mind when you came across the Asian Professional Meetup group?
o What do you ideally hope to get out of this group?
o Do you have a special talent or skill that you bring to the As. Prof. group?
o If you were stuck on a deserted island for 10 years and could only bring 1 book, DVD, and CD, and 1 male and female celebrity, what would they be?
o Play the name game: we all say our names, and whoever can get them all right at the end wins a prize (ie movie tickets, etc).

* Goals (present something we come up with, and get input from group as well)
o To help group members professionals connect. I figure we should each talk about our interests, so people who have common interests can connect.
o Professional network: what do people want out of this group professionally?
o Will pass around a sheet, anyone who wants to put their contact info on it can be added to our email group.

* Future Meet ups/ Social Activities / Frequency/ Location
o Asian American stuff: film festival, MOMA, study groups (yes, I am putting "study group" under Asian American stuff), support Kaba Modern together.
o Alcohol related: "bar crawls", Yelp "destroy your liver" events, other Yelp events (Scavenger Hunt), clubs, karaoke
o Fun: poker nights, BBQs, dinners, etc.
o Solicit ideas from the group (I'll bring a notepad or something).
o Pass around a sheet so that people can be added to this email group.
